On October 17 1999, Tyler Carver spoke in the Adult Education series at Third Presbyterian Church, Rochester, NY. Tyler is a member of Downtown United Presbyterian Church (DUPC) and a member of the church’s pastor nominating committee.

A transsexual person, female to male, Tyler said he got excellent support from his church community: spiritually, emotionally, and financially. Tyler explains in his talk that he felt different from an early age. However, the counseling and gender change occurred since 1996.
